Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced the availability of a new smartphone running under the Symbian Belle operating system, namely the Nokia 603.

The handset already leaked into the wild, and all of the necessary details on it have been now unveiled to the world.

Nokia 603 sports a 3.5-inch ClearBlack touchscreen display, that can deliver an nHD resolution (640 x 360 pixels) and support for 16 million colors, while sporting toughened glass and being capable of offering visibility even when in bright sunlight.

The new smartphone packs a 1GHz application processor inside, which should prove great when it comes to multitasking on the go, which is complemented by a battery that can deliver up to 7 hours of talk time, or up to 460 hours of standby.

Nokia also packed the new device with pentaband frequencies (WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100, GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900), HSDPA 3G, and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.

On the back, the new smartphone boasts a five-megapixel photo snapper that can offer 720p video recording at 30fps. Not to mention that it also comes with photo and video editing software and that the Symbian Belle OS enables users to easily upload to social networking sites.

The new Nokia phone also packs NFC (near-field communications) capabilities, which allows users to easily share pictures, videos and contact details.

Of course, there is also the new Symbian Belle OS flavor and all of the features it has to offer to users, as well as various applications that the new handset features pre-loaded right from the start.

“The Symbian Belle interface is modern and endlessly customizable, offering up to six home screens and an extended range of widgets that can be placed in any combination the user chooses.” a post on Nokia Conversations reads.

“The browser is four times faster than that found on previous Symbian versions, and offers enhanced compatibility with modern web standards. The latest version of Maps allows free, turn-by-turn navigation in both standard and Drive views for in-car use.

The phone comes preloaded with Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Shazam and YouTube to cater to your entertainment needs. On a more serious level, there’s Microsoft Office Communicator, Quick Office, Adobe PDF Reader and Vlingo.”

The Nokia 603 is expected to become available for purchase in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year in black and white and should feature a price tag of around €200 before local taxes or operator subsidies.
