Nokia 225 Dual SIM was officially announced back in April and arrived on the market beginning in May. Some countries got it earlier, while some only briefly. This is the case for India, where the feature phone went on sale in mid-May, but is currently out of stock.

The handset has just been officially introduced in India, even though, as mentioned earlier, it went on sale about two weeks ago. According to Microsoft, Nokia 225 Dual SIM should be available for purchase for Rs 3,329 ($56 / €41) outright.

However, the handset seems to have already been discounted on Nokia’s official store, as the feature phone is now priced at Rs 3,199 ($54 / €39) off contract.

The difference between the two prices is not much and it’s also worth mentioning that Nokia 225 Dual SIM was discounted since it went on sale back in May.

Unfortunately, Nokia 225 Dual SIM is out of stock in the official store and no other online retailer seems to have any units left in stock. This means that Nokia has stopped supplying the feature phone in India probably due to its sale to Microsoft.

Now that Microsoft has officially announced the Nokia 225 Dual SIM in India, we expect new stock of units to be available in the coming days.

The handset should be available soon in Black, Red, White and Yellow colors, though it’s unclear whether or not Microsoft will keep the discounted price after Nokia 225 Dual SIM arrives in stock.

Spec-wise, Nokia 225 Dual SIM has been developed to offer great functionality for a very low price. Aside from the fact that it offers dual-SIM capability, the handset also offers EDGE connectivity, allowing for Internet browsing.

In addition, the feature phone sports a decent 2.8-inch display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution. It also packs a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera with video recording, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

According to Nokia, the phone’s 1200 mAh battery should provide up to 650 hours of standby time, up to 21 hours of talk time or around 50 hours of music playback.

When it comes to software, Nokia 225 Dual SIM comes preloaded with lots of social apps, games and other entertainment software, including Facebook, Twitter, Block Breaker 3, Asphalt 6, Assassins Creed 3, The Avengers and Real Football 2012.

Here is hoping that Nokia 225 Dual SIM will arrive in India sooner rather than later. Let us know in the comments if you have managed to find the feature phone at any major retailer across the country.
