Officially unveiled back in February, the cheapest feature phone soon to be available on the market, Nokia 105, has just been introduced in India.

According to Nokia, the 105 will soon be available for purchase via major retailers across the country for only Rs 1,249 outright, which is about $23 or €18.

Despite not coming with dual-SIM capability, Nokia 105 is the cheapest handset on the market and offers very long battery life.

The feature phone drains energy from an 800 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 840 hours of standby time or up to 12.5 hours of talk time.

Furthermore, the handset comes with several useful features, such as integrated flashlight, FM Radio, as well as multiple alarm clocks, along with a speaking clock. The phone measures 107 x 44.8 x 14.3mm and weighs only 70g (battery included).

The Nokia 105 sports a small 1.45-inch TFT display that supports 128 x 128 pixels resolution and 65K colors. In addition, it packs 8MB of internal memory, but lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Other highlights of the Nokia 105 feature phone include: USB (charging only), calculator, digital clock, expense manager, converter and calculator.

Customers in India who wish to pick up this cheap feature phone will be able to choose from two color options: black and cyan.

“The Nokia 105 marks the end of black & white screen era in the Indian handset market. The very human and fresh design of Nokia 105 makes it distinct in this price range, and utterly modern despite a traditional form factor. Our most affordable device – the Nokia 105, with some of the best category features, is the ideal handset for first time buyers to enjoy the benefits and experiences of mobility,” said Mr. Viral Oza, Nokia India.
