Nokia has just announced the launch of two Series 30 handsets, the Nokia 101 and Nokia 100, which are aimed at emerging markets.

While these are not the first phone to embed Nokia's S30 application user interface, the Finnish handset manufacturer states that they are the most affordable mobile phones to date.

Nokia 101 is priced at $35 and will be available in the third quarter of 2011 in Phantom Black and Coral Red colors.

The Nokia 100 costs $30 and will be available in the fourth quarter of 2011 in a range of vibrant colors including Legion Blue, Festival Pink, Ocean Blue, Phantom Black and Coral Red.

Aside design, the difference between the two is that the Nokia 101 supports dual-SIM functionality and has an MP3 player.

The dual SIM functionality allows users to connect to two different networks to receive calls and messages.

With Nokia SIM manager, users will be able to select which SIM card to use to make a call or send a text message.

When paired with powerful and locally relevant services such as Nokia Life Tools, the Nokia 101 and Nokia 100 offer a unique experience that is simply unmatched in their markets at these price points,” said Mary McDowell, executive vice president, Mobile Phones, Nokia.

Both phones come with FM radio, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16 GB), but the 101 also features MP3 player and a 103 phone loudspeaker.

Software-wise, Nokia 100 and 101 care bundled with Nokia Life Tools, in selected markets, and Nokia Money, in India, which provides instant access to relevant information on healthcare, education, agriculture and entertainment.
