Austrian cooling expert Noctua has announced the availability of yet another professional 92-millimeter cooler that follows the successful introduction of the NF-P12 120-millimeter unit in November. The new 92-millimeter fan complements the 80 and 120-millimeter fan series, and is the company's first retail fan.

The new cooling solution has been recommended worldwide by more than 150 websites and specialized magazines, thanks to its improved performance at extremely low noise levels.

"Many avid Noctua users have already asked us for a 92mm model", explains Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "After a development period of over 18 months, we're finally able to present a 92mm fan that fully meets our high demands and sets new standards in the 92mm range."

The new NF-B9 cooler fan features an airflow-optimized blade design that forces higher amounts of cold air onto the processors, with improved static pressure that usually is to be achieved at much higher speeds. The fan can constantly blow 64.3 cubic meters of air per hour and 1.61-millimeters of water at 1600 rotations per minute.

The noise reduction system has also been tweaked in order to ensure silent operation even at high speeds. For instance, the NF-B9 fan stays quiet and outputs a noise level of 17.6dB. This is possible due to its beveled blade tips and the Vortex-Control Notches technology that have been introduced first in the successful NF-P12 model. The technologies minimizes the aerodynamic noise and eliminates the disturbing hiss as the air is forcefully pushed through the heatsink's fins.

Also, the SSO-Bearing technology mixes with the new SC drive system (introduced in the NF-P12 series) makes sure that the fan spins quietly and stays stable over a long time. The fan can work continuously for at least 150.000 hours and comes with 6 years manufacturer's warranty.

The NF-B9 fan is available immediately for a retail price of $21.90.
