A representative from video game developer Blizzard has denied rumors that the company planned to unveil its new MMO project, codenamed Titan, at the upcoming BlizzCon 2011 event.

The representative says that Blizzard is working on a new project, which the gaming world has known for a long time, but that an announcement will not come soon.

It seems that Titan is still in the early stages of development and Blizzard wants to have the structure of the game ready before making releasing any sort of news about it.

Billy Pidgeon, who is an analyst of for M2 Research, had stated that Blizzard was preparing to talk about the launch date for Diablo III at BlizzCon 2011 and that information could also be offered on “one or more new properties”.

The existence of Titan was revealed by leaked documents coming from the Chinese subsidiary of Blizzard and the launch plan said that the game might arrive as soon as 2013.

Blizzard has commented on the leak and said that Titan is a next generation MMO game, but did not talk about the type of universe it plans to include or about the mechanics that are being developed for it.

Rumors have talked about game that will use a whole new game world and will aim to expand the traditional role playing mechanics, allowing the player more freedom when it comes to his own development.

There has also been speculation about the business model, with some saying that the game might be free-to-play and will use an auction house model to allow Blizzard to make money from MMO.

BlizzCon 2011 will feature panels on all the big properties of the developer, from Starcraft II to World of Warcraft, running through Diablo III, and the Foo Fighters will provide the entertainment on the final night.
