If you are one of those people who have stalled buying a PlayStation 3 because of the price and because of the upcoming holiday season, which will be filled with price cuts and wonderful bundles that just might make it worth it, well, in the past years, things might have gone that way but you're wrong this time around. Sony has just announced that it doesn't have any price cuts scheduled for the following winter season and that its strong lineup of games will definitely push anyone who hasn't bought a PS3 to get one and with a couple of great games that are going to hit the shelves this Christmas season.

"As previously discussed we aren't making any price moves this holiday season," Patrick Seybold, director of corporate communications at Sony Computer Entertainment America, stated. "In my opinion," he added, "we have the best lineup of any PlayStation generation going into this holiday and consumers will be very receptive to it."

Pretty strong words, but he then detailed on the reasons why these games and upcoming improvements will definitely make possible PS3 buyers change their minds.

"With PS3 titles for this including Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift to name but a few of our multiple exclusives, combined with PlayStation Home and increasing multimedia features for the hardware, we expect to have continued momentum going into and beyond this holiday season."

All in all, it seems that Sony definitely wants to win this winter by not resorting to any price cuts or attractive bundles. As a quick reminder, Microsoft cut the price of its Xbox 360 two times this year, after each one gaining a pretty big edge on sales over the PS3. But Sony has also stated that the sales of its console have already surpassed its expectations by as much as 30 percent. So we're going to see a pretty interesting match this season between the two consoles.
