The next project from developer Naughty Dog, widely believed to be another incarnation of the Uncharted franchise, will not be using the PlayStation Move motion tracking controller from Sony, mainly because the game was to far along in development when the company announced its new peripheral.

When asked by Game Informer whether the next project Naughty Dog is working on will include support for the Move motion tracking system Christophe Balestra, who is a co-president at the game developer, said, “Maybe in the future. Right now, it’s kind of difficult because we’re so focused on the next thing. It would be too late for us to start thinking about that.

He added that, “I think if we were going to tackle a game that supported Move, we would want to do it from the ground up. We’re too far along into what we’re working on next to really do it justice” and said that Move had potential to power video game experiences for years to come.

Naughty Dog is a first party developer for the PlayStation 3 and with the two Uncharted games the company has gained a reputation of pushing the technology of the Sony home console to its limits in order to create engaging gaming experiences.

Move is one of the big launches of 2010 for Sony, with full three dimensional gaming coming later in the year, and the company will likely push all its developers to add motion tracking functionality to their projects.

Another Sony developer, Guerrilla Games, has already announced that its upcoming shooter Killzone 3 will be using both Move and 3D technology when it arrives in 2011 and the game was shown in action with both techs activated at the Gamescom trade event.

The main rival for Move is the Microsoft made Kinect system, which does not use any physical controller and will be launched in early November.
