No more visible speakers, that is!

Usually, when people buy gear, they just adore displaying it as much as possible even at the risk of becoming ridiculous or worse, annoying. Whether it's about a new high-tech cellphone, a new A/V receiver, new speakers, new plasma TV and so on, they all are at least tempted to show off.

Well, no more! It seems like some people have grown sick of such tech display and have become more and more interested in hiding the tech stuff away from plain sight. And I mean not throwing it away and giving up tech but rather finding new and alternate design methods to allow them to hide things in front of your very eyes.

Disguising was employed to optically remove the speakers from the overall room appearance: look around in silence and it's most likely you won't be able to see any; maybe get to some by wildly guessing but it will definitely be a hard task spotting any sound source.

Acoustic Research Home Decor outed the HD510 system, the $899 5-satellite combination, all 100W pumped by a 175W digital amplifier. The cool thing is that you can actually have different antique clocks hiding your speakers, a wooden chest for the subwoofer and some books for another speaker-hideout. Needless to say, all the sound sources are placed in hi-quality objects, well-worthy of placing them in your home much to both ambient higher rating and to the fun of hearing music without noticing where it comes from.

Another company, Masquerade (funny and direct, expressive name), specialized in hiding out your speakers behind all sorts of pictures and thus filling up your rooms with paintings and printings rather than with speaker boxes.

So, not only will you be able to enrich the way your home looks by means of hanging beautiful things on its walls, but you will also gain a lot of space and make a better impression on your guests. While these systems come in as 5.1 and even more channels sound, you will have no trouble setting up your PC or existing audiophile amplifier. Even further customizing is provided by the fact that Maquerade will also let you choose from a various frameworks and colors so your audio gear will truly integrate in the home aspect and pass even more unnoticed.

From 600 Euro up to 1900 Euro you can choose whatever system you feel like putting up in your home. Just hide them speakers!
