Bad news for all you Nintendo Wii owners who were hoping for some free Virtual Console games. Rumors are sparking on the web, and if we are to believe them, Nintendo won't be offering any free content on their Wii Virtual Console.

Eurogamer reports that on the 25th, you were supposed to download Super Mario Bros, Toe Jam & Earl and R-Types free of charge via Nintendo's Virtual console. But Nintendo UK comes and says so, ruining the lives of a lot of gamers that had nothing better to do on Christmas day than to download a few old Nintendo games.

Do not get restless, Nintendo has not canceled the Virtual Console downloads, but wants money for them. They will release Donkey Kong Jr (NES), Military Madness (TurboGrafx-16), Soccer and Tennis (NES), Space Harrier II (Megadrive) and Toe & Jam Earl (Megadrive) on the 22nd, and Baseball (NES), Ice Hockey (NES), R-TYPE (TurboGrafx-16), SimCity (Super Nintendo), Super Castlevania IV (Super Nintendo) and Super Probotector on the 29th of December. If you are one of the lucky Nintendo Wii owners, you might consider logging on to the VC on the embedded days and downloading them.

As of 15 of December, Alien Crush (TurboGrafx-16), Columns Megadrive), Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Megadrive), Pinball (NES), Ristar (Megadrive), Solomon's Key (NES) and Urban Champion (NES) are available on the Virtual Console so if you haven't downloaded them yet, there is still a chance. NES titles go for 500 Wii points, 800 points for SNES games, and 1000 Wii points for N64 games.
