Fidelis pounds hackers

Sensitive data protection is a big issue these days. IT experts everywhere try to defend their companies' data as well as they can, still, in some cases, it leaks and hackers get a hold of it. Fidelis Security announced on Tuesday a quick start program for its data-leak prevention product that is bound to help companies protect their data, as NetworkWorld informs.

This software takes two weeks to be fully operational and functions in 2 easy steps. First thing it does is locate sensitive data. The second thing is protect it - when this program notices data going out of the company's network it can either block traffic or prompt a message to an admin. This is useful - some corporations chose not to allow certain data to ever go out, that's why the block function is good, while in case of transferable data, the admin needs to be asked if info should be sent to a certain IP, because some users are authorized to receive the data, while others might be hackers.

Also, individual policies can be implemented. This is nice as well, as some IPs will always be considered safe to send data to. According to NetworkWorld, Fidelis hopes to minimize concerns that customers have over how long it can take to identify, locate and protect corporate data. The company promises that five days in a two-week period, the quick-start program stops data leakage. This is because of the technology's level of detail and flexibility, as I've read on the same site.

So, this software is great, if you ask me, but the not so good part is that it costs a lot - $124.000. Sure, this is no problem for big corporations, but smaller firms will not be able to buy the Fidelis Quick Start Program.
