In the United Kingdom

Sam Fischer, despite his long absence from the videogaming world, seems to still have it as the new Splinter Cell title managed to stay in the number one position for a second week in the videogame chart of the United Kingdom, one of the biggest markets for interactive entertainment in the world. And considering the lack of huge releases in the coming week, we might see Conviction go for a hat trick for the final days of April.

Ubisoft is probably delighted to see that Just Dance, its more casual dancing title, continues to sit in second place in the chart above more hardcore titles, like Grand Theft Auto Episodes from Liberty City, the double disk-based episode launch from Rockstar and Take Two, which might be the last we see of Liberty City and of GTA for some time. Fourth place has gone to Wii Fit Plus from Nintendo, the fitness-oriented title managing a jump of one place this week.

The only new entry in the top ten is Monster Hunter Tri from Capcom, a game that was supposed to generate the same level of interest in West as it does in Japan for the series and seems to have failed at that. Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the shooter from Electronic Arts and DICE, has fallen two places from fourth to sixth, while seventh place is occupied by Wii Sports Resort, the casual title that continues to perform very well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from Activision and Infinity Ward is now sitting in eighth place, up one from nine, while Just Cause 2 from Square Enix lost no less than three places with Pokemon Soul Silver from Nintendo taking tenth place and its Heart Gold counter part coming in one place down in eleven. FIFA 10 from EA Sports exited the top ten this week.
