The limitations of the console are to blame

Guitar Hero: World Tour promised to bring a new type of music experience to the big number of fans this series has. It was the first title in the innovative franchise that let you play the vocals and the drums, much like its archrival, Rock Band, and featured a whole new song creation tool that gave you the chance to make new songs for the game.

But one of the most expected features for GH: World Tour is the fact that exclusive DLC (Downloadable Content) tracks would make their way to this game. Activision Blizzard, the publisher of the title, guaranteed that bands like Aerosmith or Metallica would release their songs for GH: World Tour.

However, one of the most expected packs set to appear for the pretty popular game was a Jimi Hendrix themed one, and a big number of fans could hardly wait to test their rock skills on the tracks of one of the most legendary guitarists of all time. But unfortunately, it seems that Wii owners won't get the chance to play the songs of the famous artist, as Activision Blizzard has just announced that, because of the limitations imposed by the small console, coupled with certain licensing terms, it can't release the DLC pack on the Wii.

"Due to technical or licensing restrictions, the DLC offerings will not be the same for every console platform," explained a representative of Activision Blizzard. "For example, certain artists prefer to keep the integrity of the track pack rather than releasing singles and the Wii’s infrastructure only allows us the ability to release single songs as DLC. The development team is committed to offering Wii fans worldwide as much variety of DLC as possible on a regular basis."

Some very sad news for Wii owners, as they won't get to hear the popular songs of the famous artist. Let's just hope that the team at Activision Blizzard will offer some new content in exchange for not being able to bring this track pack to the Wii.
