Battlefield Hardline's launch went relatively smoothly, but the development team at Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are saying that they do not yet know when they will be able to launch a range of new features for the title, including gun bench, the special masks or the Legendary concept for the progression system.

The information comes from Thaddeus Sasser, the leading multiplayer designer working on the title, who is not offering any details on why the concepts, which are designed to be part of the Premium service, have not been available when the shooter was introduced in North America.

The gun bench is designed to allow players to customize their weapons in interesting ways and to track how each of them performs in combat, while the masks are another avenue for players to customize their presence.

Finally, the Legendary concept is a way for dedicated players to get through the progression system of Battlefield Hardline as many times as they want in order to show their proficiency.

All of them will be important for hardcore fans who plan to spend the most time with the game.

The community of players who is ready to pay for the Premium subscription service of the shooter will quickly become impatient if the development team is not able to deliver all these features as soon as possible.

Battlefield Hardline will get four DLC packs

The problem for Visceral Games and Electronic Arts is that, if gamers abandon the Premium service, they might also have a problem selling the downloadable content they are planning to launch for the first-person shooter.

Four DLCs are planned: Criminal Activity, focused on small time crime jobs, Robbery, which aims to introduce cinematic action, Getaway, a car chasing experience, and Betrayal.

The development team at Visceral Games is saying that it plans to continue to listen to feedback from the player base in order to find out exactly which aspects of Hardline need to be changed via patches in the coming weeks.

The new Battlefield title needs to be a solid success for Electronic Arts, after being already delayed once from its original planned date of November 2014.
