Actress explains her recent weight loss

Mischa Barton, of the “O.C” fame, has never been what one may call fat, but, as compared to how she looks now, she has seen plumper days. Because of her drastic weight loss, several media outlets have started criticizing the actress for crash dieting and / or doing who knows what unhealthy things to her body. Not really, Mischa says: she has just become obsessed with Pilates.

Speaking with OK! Magazine precisely on the topic of her new slender frame, the actress and occasional model reveals that not once in her life did she crash diet. She does like, though, to work out a lot, and perhaps that is why her weight is now back to what it was once, as she’s exercising more. Leading a healthy, happy life is a priority for Mischa, she explains, so she would never do anything to risk that.

“For me, it’s all about Pilates recently. I’m obsessed with Pilates. I think it’s so fun. I don’t do any crash diets. There’s nothing that I really do like that, because I’m always working. I mean, before I go do a film, I do workout more. I do get ready for a film and try to be healthy and in shape. And when I’m not working, I do less of it.” Mischa tells the magazine.

Now, the actress adds, she’s thinner than usual because she has also started incorporating cardio in her working out sessions – and it shows, of course. “I do more cardio because I work long hours. Jogging, running – stuff like that’s really good before you do a film, so you have more energy.” Barton points out.

Mischa Barton, who not long ago made the headlines of all the tabloids and respected publications alike with her cellulite-ridden legs, has often held the spotlight for things that are completely unrelated to her acting career. Just recently, as noted above, she has come under heavy fire after attending the Paris Fashion Week shows and showing off a waif-like skeletal frame, unlike her fuller figure of a couple of months ago.
