Just like GTA: no demo, no cry

While some game editors and reviewers have had their chance to play Assassin's Creed at various conventions and game shows, the majority of the public is still left empty-handed. We're still waiting for a demo, but the bomb's just been dropped by Jade Raymond, the game's producer: there will be no demo whatsoever for the title!

The reason for this decision is that Assassin's Creed is a sandbox style game allowing you to roam freely and it's not divided into missions. Usually demos are created by including a single mission from the game and delivering it to the public. This won't happen here and Jade Raymond compared the title with Grand Theft Auto, which is also one of those games that never get released in their demo versions first.

That's probably the second bad news today, as we were really hoping for a GTA IV demo, but our hopes have been shattered yet again. What if we get to play a demo of the latest Grand Theft Auto in the meantime? Will Ubisoft rethink its strategy and launch some Assassin's Creed playable content? I don't really see what's with all the rush, as the game will be launched in November (at least on the PS3 and Xbox 360), so there's not much time left to wait.

You can blame it on the fact that we've got used to playing the demos of famous games released on the PSN and Xbox Live a month before the official launch of those titles. Well now, back to the trailers and screenshots of Assasssin's Creed gameplay, as there are many weeks ahead of us (about four) and the wait's about to end. Will Ubisoft be using the same excuse in the case of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2? Considering the amount of trailers for the funny title, we should see a demo sooner or later, preferably sooner.
