Samsung confirmed once again that it has no plans for updating these devices

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has confirmed again that there will be no upgrade to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

operating system for its Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab devices.

The company made this announcement about two weeks ago, but was said soon after to be reconsidering the plan.

However, it appears that there is no change to the initial statement, and that the owners of one or both of these devices will have to stick to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

In fact, the company told The Next Web that the two devices were designed to offer a great experience when coupled with the Gingerbread OS flavor.

Other devices in the Galaxy series have already started to get a taste of the new operating system flavor, including Galaxy S II or the newer Tabs, but the older ones will be left at their current state.

The same as before, Samsung claims that the hardware capabilities of these two devices prevent them from being compatible with the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

“A full update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the GALAXY Tab (7-inch) and GALAXY S is not practicable due to hardware limitations,” Samsung said again, Business Insider reports.

The company also confirmed that the Value Pack that it was recently reported to prepare for the two devices was only a rumor.

There will be no such update for either Galaxy S or Galaxy Tab devices, the mobile phone maker told TNW.

Hopefully, Samsung will find a way to bring a taste of the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system to the older devices too, so as to make millions of users happy. Galaxy Tab might have not registered such a success, but the Galaxy S was very popular when launched in 2010, as well as last year, despite the release of Galaxy S II.
