In mid July, Microsoft was making available the first pre-beta version of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 to a very limited pool of testers. Following the initial release of Vista Sp1, the Redmond company delivered an additional pre-beta build in August. Then a couple of months back, Jon DeVaan, Senior Vice President of the Windows Core Operating System division at Microsoft, and Nick White, Product Manager with the Vista Team, revealed that the fully-fledged beta of the operating system would be dropped by the end of September to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. The past month, Vista SP1 indeed shipped to over 12,000 testers via Microsoft Connect.

But as the same time, 12,000 testers is not nearly sufficient to satisfy the hunger of over 60 million Vista users for the first service pack, or even for a small preview. Vista SP1 beta was subsequently leaked to peer-to-peer file sharing networks. But there are inherent risks associated with downloading unofficial releases from Microsoft as torrent. However, for the vast mass of Windows Vista users there is an alternative to the leaked build of Vista SP1.

In early August, Microsoft was delivering two compatibility, performance and reliability update packs for Windows Vista. The two patch packages were designed to soften some of the rough edges of the operating system, and Microsoft revealed that both updates are integrated into Vista SP1. At the end of September, concomitantly with the availability of Vista SP1 Beta, Nick White also announced that Microsoft was cooking five additional reliability updates for Windows Vista, that would be made available in advance of the refresh.

Well, bellow you will be able to find the downloads for the five updates for the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista:
