Great deal for the Japanese company

The Nintendo Wii is a colossal hit, the Japanese company registering at the moment over 30 million units sold. Undoubtedly, the popularity of this console has been decided by the fact that it doesn't target only hardcore gamers, but offers titles which appeal to both serious and casual ones. The large market appeal and cool factor that the small and white console is enjoying has sparked the interest of big companies. The report we have just received is truly interesting. Nintendo will be teaming up with hotel giant Marriott to offer a special, customized Wii experience to their guests.

But don't think that Nintendo will just install consoles in the lobbies of the hotels, they're going to set them up in the rooms. We're talking about a very special type of Wii, one that doesn't require changing the game discs if you want to play another game, but will have a library available for the player. This unit will be able to offer almost 20 different games to the hotel guest, from the classic Wii Spors to Wii Fit or Super Mario Galaxy.

“The intuitive, motion-sensitive controls of the Wii Remote™ controller make the games easy to play, whether alone or in groups, making it an excellent fit for hotels and their guests. With Wii Fit, guests can even burn calories while having fun, all in the comfort of their hotel rooms. The new Wii hotel game system allows hotel guests to select from a library of games without inserting game discs. With the intuitive games menu, guests can just point the Wii Remote at a game and begin playing immediately. Popular new Wii games will be added to the menu as they become available,” read the official press release.

These units will be tested at six hotels with guests being able to book online a Wii fitted room by entering a promotion code of XY0 and paying a small fee. All in all, it sounds pretty good and Nintendo must be happy since Marriott has over 3000 hotels in the whole world.
