Team Ninja, the developer of popular series like Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive, has confirmed that Nintendo has been making constant changes to the Wii U prototypes it sent to the Japanese studio.

The Nintendo Wii U is getting ready for its release later this year and, seeing as how the company is declining to reveal any new details, at least until the time is right, some developers are now sharing new pieces of information with the public.

After Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono said that major changes were made to the Wii U since its reveal last year, Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi and Fumihiko Yasuda have now shared their thoughts with Nintendo Gamer, via CVG, on the new home console.

According to them, it’s quite easy to develop games for the Wii U and Nintendo has been more than willing to implement changes based on feedback from the studio.

“They've asked us what we would want from the hardware, and when we give them feedback we can see that they're definitely listening to it and making changes," said Hayashi. "The hardware is still constantly changing.”

Yasuda also mentioned some details about the Wii U’s special tablet controller, which has a touchscreen that’s similar to the DS.

“The Wii U's touch control is like the Nintendo DS's. We released a Ninja Gaiden game, Dragon Sword, on DS, so we want to introduce some elements from that into the Wii U version [of Ninja Gaiden 3].”

Nintendo, for its part, has yet to reveal other details about the Wii U besides the things that were showcased back at E3 2011. The company did state time and time again that more info on the home console was going to be showcased throughout the year, culminating with the “final” version of the Wii U being presented in summer at E3 2012.
