Video game publisher Nintendo seems to be ready to send out a solution for those players affected by The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword bug that makes the main quest impossible to complete.

The Japanese division of the company says that it will offer a downloadable fix for those who have their Nintendo Wii consoles connected to the Internet while also allowing those who lack access to actually mail in a SD card or even their whole Wii console in order for the fix to be applied by Nintendo.

Actual details on how the fix will work will be offered at a later date and it is not clear whether the other divisions of Nintendo, in the United States and in Europe, are ready to do the same.

Nintendo acknowledged that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had a game breaking bug, saying, “We have been made aware of the issue that results in being unable to progress in the Song of the Hero quest. If the game has been saved after completing the sequence of events, it will no longer be possible to proceed through the game on that save file. The only options at that point are to either start the game over or to use an earlier save file to continue.”

Initially Nintendo said that players need to make sure that they avoid the bugged gameplay sequence but it seems that they have found a way to revert the game to a playable state for those who are already affected and are not interested in restarting the game.

Skyward Sword has been a solid hit on the Nintendo Wii and is widely believed to be the last high profile first party game to arrive on the platform.

Fans are speculating that a team led by Shigeru Miyamoto is now working on a new Zelda on the new Wii U.
