Let's hope that only for a short time...

At the beginning of the year we were discussing about cell phone worms and viruses; now, it's time for the malicious codes that target gaming consoles.

A while ago, we were talking about the appearing of a PSP trojan that rendered the application unusable.

A new console is coming now under hacker attack: Nintendo DS, which suffers from similar symptoms as its competitor.

Those who have installed an alleged Hentai viewer on their Nintendo DS consoles are weeping by now for venturing into the "jungle" of uncertified applications. Together with it, the users have also installed a virus which has no "antidote"; thus, their Nintendo DS console has become a simple decorative object.

For those who use FlashMe Firmware Replacement, there is stillvhope. The DS can be revived by pressing the keys A, B, Start, Select, followed by the loading sequence from the flashcard.

Considering that in PSP's case, the security solution producers have reacted quickly and recommended the replacement of the motherboard, let's hope that Nintendo DS will benefit from the same treatment.
