Massive Nintendo 3DS news have just surfaced, as the Japanese company is preparing a brand new add-on for the handheld console, in the form of a new cradle, which adds a second circle pad for the device, as well as a new R2 shoulder button, designed specifically for the upcoming Monster Hunter Tri 3G game.

The Nintendo 3DS has certainly been taking up the news spotlight these past few weeks, what with Nintendo cutting the price of the portable console to just $169.99 and deploying ten free games for those who already bought the 3DS at full price.

Now, after quite a few rumors ahead of the company's TGS 2011 conference, where a new 3DS product might be announced, Japanese magazine Famitsu, via Destructoid, has come up with a massive scoop on a new accessory for the console.

What you see above is a new cradle for the device, similar to the charging one shipped with the console, but, as you can also observe, it has quite a few add-ons, including a brand new circle pad to the right and, even if you can't actually tell, also a new shoulder button.

The add-on is designed to be used by the upcoming Monster Hunter Tri 3G for the 3DS, a special installment of the massively successful franchise for the 3DS, which the magazine says will arrive this year. The new game brings 12 weapon classes, underwater battles, local multiplayer and even online one, as well as a new main monster called Blakidos.

Nintendo hasn't released any official word on this potential accessory, but it looks to be quite genuine, especially since rumors of the addition of a new circle pad for the handheld console were floating around the web in recent weeks.

Expect official confirmation in the following days or next week at Nintendo's special 3DS conference ahead of the start of TGS 2011.
