It will hit the market before Sony's PS3

It seems that Nintendo wants to release the already famous gaming console - the Wii - earlier than the one of its challenger - Sony's PlayStation 3 - which is due for launch on November 17, if the latter will not change its mind again and delay again the shipping, writes CNN, the Online Edition.

On the other hand, Nintendo representatives declared several times that the manufacturer's console will be cheaper than Xbox 360 and most of all PS3, which is theoretically 'ranked' at almost $600. In turn, the Wii will feature a reasonable price of a maximum $300. Furthermore, the console will hit the market because of its advanced HD functions and of its innovative controller, which will look, as you already know, like an usual remote control, enabling the users to easily access the applications and features of the Wii.

"Indeed, the company appears to be already manufacturing final retail units of the Wii, according to a June 21st analyst's note from P.J. McNealy of American Technology Research. That would give it a significant head start over Sony (Charts), which has yet to begin final manufacturing of the PlayStation 3. Microsoft's first Xbox 360 did not roll off the assembly line last year until 69 days before the on sale date of Nov. 22. (That late start in production is the root cause behind last holiday's shortages.)," comments CNN Online Edition. The competitors have several problems with their consoles or dedicated games. Consequently, Microsoft has been starred into the games scandal, and neither did Sony escape such 'dirty incidents', but the latter featured in many others 'PS3 battles' kicked off by the outraged gamers or game developers.

Also, the Wii seems to be the sole console without hardware problems, as rumors say it is almost ready for an early launch, which is due to happen in less than a two months time. The company's representatives stated that they expect to ship approximately 6 million units by March 2007, almost the same amount as Sony.
