Developer Ninja Theory has announced that their upcoming game Hellblade will also be released on PC, in addition to the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony.

The news comes from an announcement on the company's website, where in an unfortunate turn of events, some console users have already resorted to bashing Ninja Theory for wanting to share their creation with a wider user base.

"We're excited to be bringing Hellblade to PC gamers and welcoming them into the Hellblade development journey. PC offers us fantastic opportunities to engage players in playtesting, usability testing and modding. We plan on grasping these opportunities with both hands to make Hellblade as good as it possibly can be for our fans," the blurb reads.

This could mean that mod support may end up being implemented in the game, which is great, as the PC community is known for creating a lot of exciting content for many video games.

Furthermore, the studio has revealed that Hellblade may support resolutions up to 4K, and that a PC beta might also be part of the game's future, as the developers want players to get their hands on the game and provide feedback as soon as possible.

A different kind of AAA game

Due to the small size of the video game making studio, Hellblade was introduced as a small-scope AAA-quality game. The studio has warned its fans not to expect something too big, as they want to create a highly focused experience.

However, the devs has promised uncompromising ninja action with brutal combat and a lot of sword-based action, with great artwork and story, all done with very high production values.

The studio's previous works include Devil May Cry, Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, great games which garnered a lot of attention from the community and made Ninja Theory have a ton of dedicated fans.

Hellblade will only be available as a digital download, sometime later this year. It revolves around a Celtic myth, following Senua, the protagonist, in a journey through the underworld.
