Ninja Gaiden III has just received a few more details about its gameplay, specifically that it will have a "complex" multiplayer mode, and about its story, which will focus only on series protagonist Ryu Hayabusa.

According to the latest issues of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, cited by GameThirst, the new Ninja Gaiden 3 title will see its story focus on the hero of the previous titles, Ryu Hayabusa.

Yosuke Hayashi, the game's producer and boss of its developer, Team Ninja, revealed to the magazine that we can expect a much darker Ryu, who will see his life, feelings and lifestyle examined by the story of the actual game.

"We are trying to take the violent concepts even deeper and make people realize how it feels to actually kill someone and what it is to actually gut someone," he said. "It's very important to us that people realize that violence is not only about blood and gore."

What's even more surprising is that Ninja Gaiden III will have a "complex" multiplayer mode, but Hayashi didn't reveal any concrete details about it, saying only that we will know more at this summer's E3 conference.

The Team Ninja boss has once again emphasized that the new game will be more accessible, but that it will keep its infamous difficulty level, which made the previous games so popular with hardcore players.

"It's not that the game's going to be easier - nothing like that. It's just that we are trying to make a whole game, a more exciting game that can be enjoyed by anyone. But at the same time, hardcore gamers will be able to feel and appreciate what the series is about."

Hayashi declined to comment on whether the new title might have support for the PlayStation Move or not, saying that it's a heavily guarded secret.

Ninja Gaiden III is expected to appear at the end of the year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
