A court case in which a nine-month-old boy from Pakistan has been accused of conspiring to murder, threatening police and interfering in state affairs might be the most bizarre case ever recorded.

According to Daily Mail, baby Muhammad Mosa Khan is one of more than 30 people, some of which are members of his family, who face charges after a police raid to capture suspected gas thieves in the eastern city of Lahore.

Police claimed the suspects tried to murder officers by attacking them with wooden rods and throwing stones at them during the raid. The boy’s father, who is also among the accused, said the group was protesting against an electricity shortage in Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city.

“He does not even know how to pick up his milk bottle properly. How can he stone the police?” the baby’s grandfather said.

The baby appeared in court doing normal things for his age: sitting on his father's lap and holding a bottle of milk. He has been fingerprinted and was reportedly granted bail. The case was adjourned until April 12.

After learning about the murder charges against the baby, the chief minister of the Punjab province, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, requested an inquiry and demanded “stern action” to be taken against the officials who filed the charges against the young boy.

The sub-inspector who registered the case against the child, named Kashif Ahmed, has now reportedly been suspended.
