With the new version of the app, users interested in joining chat rooms would have to have a verified phone number.

According to the development team, this should improve the experience users receive from the application, since the access can be restricted for those who would flood or post inappropriate content.

Another modification that the new version of the application comes with affects the Notifiable icon, which is being users only for those users who closed the app, but can still receive notifications.

“The Notifiable icon is the one with a check mark in the middle stands for Notifiable and it is used only for Nimbuzz contacts that closed Nimbuzz app but can still receive push (on the iPhone) or Ping notifications (on the Java and Symbian phones),” the development team explains.

A series of fixes were included with the new application flavor as well, including some related to connectivity issues, or various other bugs the software was affected with before.
