Nimbuzz announced today the release of its multi-community mobile social messenger application for mobile phones powered by Google's Android operating system. The new software solution comes specifically crafted for the platform and delivers to users a revolutionary buddy list layout, along with Skype IM, a time-sensitive user interface, home-screen notifications, clickable URLs, and more, proving to be one of the most sophisticated apps for the Android.

Nimbuzz uses the Android platform technologies and provides home-screen notifications to announce users about the incoming chats when the application is running in the background, while also featuring a time-sensitive user interface option meant to detect how long a user presses on a contact in the buddy list. The option will open the profile of the contact upon a short press, and a chat window upon a long click.

The application also provides seamless connectivity through the auto-reconnect feature, which enables it to re-connect whenever the connection is lost. Another feature of the software solution is the smart buddy list, which shows information in an intelligent way, placing the presence information in one view along with the avatar. Moreover, Nimbuzz also provides a multimedia chat experience through Clickable URLs.

Evert-Jaap Lugt, founder and CEO of Nimbuzz, said, “Mobiles are no longer just about hardware but software. Nimbuzz increases the value of the handset and enriches the user experience. Our Android version is a perfect example of what we do best, integrating Nimbuzz's award winning service to bring the best out of each operating system and handset.”

The Skype IM integration, the company says, is unique to Nimbuzz and is added to the list of already supported communities, which includes Facebook, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, ICQ and more. The solution also delivers support for local social networks, including StudiVZ, Hyves, Gadu Gadu, and Giovani. Those who would like to experience all the features that Nimbuzz is set to deliver to the Android platform will find the application available for free download on the Android Market.
