The first Nikon Df sample images have been published on the official Nikon Imaging website to showcase the performance of their new full frame camera in various lighting conditions.

These 7 new images come directly from the camera after being converted from RAW to JPEG using Capture NX 2 without any post-processing involved.

The images have been captured by Takeshi Fukazawa and Jeremy Walker with a variety of lenses including the AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/4G ED VR, the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G Special Edition, the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED and the AF-S Nikkor 58mm f/1.4G using a wide ISO range from ISO 100 to ISO 3200.

Judging from these samples, the new Nikon Df camera takes advantage of its D4 borrowed sensor to deliver crisp images even at high ISO settings. If we look closely at the ISO3200 and ISO1600 images, we can see that details in dark areas are very well preserved and noise is almost nonexistent. That's a great result considering that these photos come straight from the camera.

The new Nikon Df + 50mm f/1.8 kit is available for pre-order at a price of $2,996.95 / €2,222 from select US retailers.
