14 DAY TRIAL // The iF Design Awards have been sponsored by the iF Industrie Forum Design Hannover e.V. since 1953 and this is one of the most prestigious industrial product design awards in the world.
This year, a total of 4,615 products were analyzed in terms of design, degree of innovation, functionality, simplicity of operation, and branding. Among the other winners, Nikon received two iF Product Design awards for its Nikon 1 AW1 mirrorless and Coolpix A compact digital camera model.
Nikon 1 AW1 is the world's first interchangeable lens camera with a waterproof, shockproof, and freezeproof body that can be submerged at a depth of up to 15m / 49ft, can withstand the shock of a fall from up to 2m / 6.6ft, and temperatures as low as 14°F / -10°C.
Nikon Coolpix A is the first Coolpix compact digital camera to pack a DX-format CMOS image sensor. It also features a wide-angle 18.5mm fixed focal lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.8.
