The Vapor Carbon Elite will make their debut at Super Bowl 48

Clothing was among the first things that people speculated 3D printing would be used for, and sure enough Nike is all over that idea, having revealed a pair of 3D printed sneakers.

Well, to be fair, the first 3D printed footwear it made came out last year, in 2013.

Granted, it wasn't all 3D printed, only some components, but we can't really hope for much more than that yet, not when Nike is trying to make shoes that can withstand the kind of abuse footwear goes through during the Super Bowl.

Speaking of which, the Super Bowl 48 is where the new shoes will make their debut.

They are called Vapor Carbon Elite and they were made for linebackers, meaning they are shaped for speed and traction. Check them out in the video above.
