Aerialist Nik Wallenda has completed an unbelievable walk on a tightrope over a gorge near the Grand Canyon.

The video of him crossing a section on 5-cm (2-inch) steel cable makes you cringe and look away. He was holding only a pole for balance.

Wallenda, of Florida, completed the high-wire adventure on Sunday, June 23. The 34-year-old "King of the High Wire" uses no harness throughout the stunt.

Nik Wallenda is part of the "Flying Wallendas" circus and he has achieved fame by crossing the Niagara Falls on a similar rope.

The Wallendas are wire walking aficionados, and three members of his family, including his grandfather, have died while performing the dangerous stunt.

According to The Telegraph, Wallenda didn't make it across the Grand Canyon, but he did walk above the Little Colorado River Gorge at 1,500 ft (457,2 m) in the air.
