14 DAY TRIAL // What is meant to be is meant to be! That, or at least persistence has finally paid off for the Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton who has finally gotten his way and convinced on-again-off-again girlfriend to say yes to his marriage proposal, leaving them now engaged.
The British paper Daily Star is reporting that Nicole finally caved and agreed to take the British racer in marriage. The two just got back together last year after taking a break from each other and, by the looks of things, they are now heading to the altar.
Last month, Hamilton, 29, popped the question to Nicole, 35, but was left there standing as she turned him down. Only a month later, it seems that she has had a change of mind and now they're lovingly thinking of settling down at his mansion in Switzerland.
“Lewis is doing his best to keep the news under wraps but he is absolutely delighted,” said one of Lewis' close friends while at the same time dishing out some details on how the event happened “He got down on one knee and Nicole finally accepted.”
The insider seems quite knowledgeable when it comes to the couple's future plans “The plan is they are going to live together in Switzerland and travel together when Lewis is racing. Of course, this means her career will have to take a back seat for a while but she is ready to support him on the track.”
This sounds a bit disconcerting, as just last month Nicole Scherzinger confirmed she was leaving her position on the show X Factor in order to focus on her music career that has taken a break in recent years.
Secretive as he might be, Lewis couldn't resist dropping some hints last week when he called Nicole “my wifey” in a photo he posted. This seems to confirm that he finally decided to man up and commit, after Nicole reportedly dumped him for not being more mature and prone to commitment.
The insider dishes out on wedding plans too “Lewis will be the main breadwinner when Nicole is not working and she will always have access to his private jet if she needs to travel. It is the ideal plan for both of them and will hopefully lead to a big summer wedding in August when Lewis has a three-week break from his F1 schedule.”
Congratulations to the new couple are now probably in order. But only after official confirmation.
