14 DAY TRIAL // Former wild child Nicole Richie, daughter of legendary crooner Lionel Richie and best frenemy of heiress Paris Hilton, is expecting another child, her boyfriend Joel Madden of the Good Charlotte band has recently announced on his personal webpage. The news comes somehow as a shock, several media outlets are saying, because neither of the two stars has ever spoken about wanting another child after daughter Harlow Winter was born 13 months ago.
“What’s better than winning an Oscar? I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister. God has truly blessed my family. Hope you’re all feeling as good as I am right now.” Joel wrote in a message for the fans of the band. At the same time, the rocker also announced that Nicole was due to give birth in August, but did not reveal what plans they might have for the future.
In all fairness, Nicole often credited motherhood as the one thing that helped her understand her life and that made her want to settle down. Having Harlow was the best thing that could have ever happened to her, Richie often said. As an example of that, she is no longer a regular on the party circuit as she once used to be, and neither does her name make it into the tabloid media as it did.
“It’s weird – even though we had only been together a few months, we had lightly talked about having a family. I think we always knew. It’s almost like I don’t even remember what life was like before her. She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose.” 27-year-old Nicole shared a while back about how Harlow changed her and Joel’s life.
As some fans may know, Nicole, aspiring actress, singer and established television personality and socialite, has had a rather colorful past. Busted for driving while on pills and marijuana, she spent 82 highly-mediated minutes in a county jail, had a few several stints in rehab, was plagued by eating disorder rumors and was constantly in the spotlight thanks to her on-and-off relationship with Paris Hilton. Since she met Joel in late 2006 and started a family with him, months have gone by without the tabloids writing anything about Nicole.
