Nicole Kidman says Sophia Lauren is her role model in terms of aging gracefully

She has often been criticized for an alleged fondness to Botox and other injectable fillers, but, according to Nicole Kidman herself, there is nothing artificial about her face. Answering questions from fans, the actress says her beauty idol is stunner Sophie Lauren and that she believes in growing old naturally and gracefully, as People magazine can confirm.

Fans must know that Nicole’s face has changed in time and that we’re talking changes that can’t be explained by growing old or having the hair or makeup done differently, which has repeatedly prompted speculation that she was having Botox and fillers injected. Even reputed movie critics said on more than one occasion that her lack of expression ruined her acting performance, but Nicole herself never acknowledged that in any way.

Now, in a less direct manner, the star is denying past allegations, saying she wants to grow old naturally. Asked “How do you cope working in an industry that refuses to let women age naturally and gracefully?,” Kidman says she doesn’t feel that much pressure anymore. “Well, I live in Tennessee so it is slightly different than living in LA I just worked with Sophia Loren [in Nine], and she is so gorgeous and she has such grace. I use her as a role model,” the actress says.

Also in the same People piece, where the star answers fans’ questions, we learn that Nicole Kidman has no tattooes and no intention of getting one, that her daughter, Sunday Rose, has just learned her first favorite word – “bug” –, and that she loves coffee foam. The star also reveals she would have liked to be an interior designer if she weren’t a star, and that she loves to put the clothes in the washing machine and even to iron shirts.

Kidman also talks a bit about overcoming her natural shyness in the first stages of her career. “I think a lot of it has to do with just getting comfortable in my own skin. That’s part of getting older. It’s okay to be 5 ft. 11 in. and all of the things that I used to feel awkward about. I now feel comfortable. A lot of that comes with being loved,” Nicole adds.
