14 DAY TRIAL // Weston Cage, Nicolas Cage’s son with Christina Fulton, has been through some tough times in the past couple of years, but things seem to be heading in the right direction at last. The rocker, reality star and actor has announced that he and his second wife Danielle are expecting their first child together.
Admittedly, his dad is just as thrilled at they are, especially since he’s about to become a granddad for the very first time. The happy couple have also revealed that they’re expecting a baby boy.
“It is a boy. Big boy, weighs a lot,” Danielle gushed to Closer magazine at the Kasem Cares Foundation’s First Annual Fundraiser in Beverly Hills. “I’m so excited! This wasn’t necessarily planned, but it is completely welcomed. We’re so happy to be giving birth eventually.”
Weston chimed in to say that his dad, Nic, was “ecstatic” to find out the happy news, adding that, “His reaction was one of pure joy and bliss. Family is very important to us.”
Nicolas Cage even accompanied them for the first ultrasound, even though the pregnancy was too early on to be able to tell what they were having. In the brief chat, Weston seemed to be going out of his way to highlight how close he and his dad were, which makes sense if you think that in 2011, there was a rumor that the guy who beat him to a pulp and put him in hospital had been hired by his famous dad to track him down.
“My father and I actually speak everyday and Danielle and I texted him the ultrasound photograph which was actually confirmation of what we thought,” he explained. Danielle added that they wanted at least 3 or 4 children because they’d both been only children, so they wanted a large family of their own now.
As noted above, this is Weston’s second marriage; the first one lasted a mere 6 months after they tied the knot, following a 2-week engagement. He and Nikki had problems from the start, which often translated into violent outbursts and altercations, and accusations of domestic abuse on either side.
Weston was even held for a mental evaluation in 2011, after both he and Nikki ended up in the hospital all bloodied following one such episode. When he announced divorce papers had been filed, the rocker proudly said that “Daddy is back” on the market. It didn’t take long for him to find another wife; hopefully, their marriage will last longer.
