Whether you like her music or not, regardless if you approve of her highly explicit lyrics, outfits and dance moves, there’s no denying that rapper Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with. She is, as of now, one of the hardest working, highest earning female artists on the scene, and considering she’s a rapper, that feat is all the more impressive.

She doesn’t plan on stopping here, she tells L’Uomo Vogue, the Music Issue, in a new interview. Music pundits have often compared her to a female Jay Z in terms of skills and determination, but she plans to match him in wealth as well.

More importantly, Nicki thinks she can do it in the next 4 years.

Nicki Minaj, a woman with a plan

Nicki Minaj is a woman who, as per her own admission, works well with deadlines. So, to amass this kind of fortune, she’s giving herself 4 years, after which time she will retire from the spotlight to settle down. That’s right, as tough as she appears to be, Nicki actually holds quite conservative views on life.

“I gave myself a time limit to reach my professional goal. I don’t want to work my whole life without ever experiencing the joys of a family,” she tells the magazine. “[I want] an upright man, who will take care of me. The time is not yet ripe, but when I decide to get married and become a mother, I would like to take a hiatus and dedicate myself completely to my child. Family has always been very important to me, and that is why I want to wait until the right moment before starting my own.”

Useless to say, if she manages to make this kind of money in 4 years, it will probably be her who will be taking care of her man, and not the other way around. That is, unless she marries a man who’s richer than she will be.

Nicki is on the right path

As ridiculous as it might seem to hear anyone say out loud that they plan to make this kind of money over such a short stretch of time, Nicki shouldn’t be dismissed as delusional because of it. She is, as noted above, one of the hardest working artists out there and it’s paying off for her big time, because she’s also one of the highest earning.

When she started out in rap, few took her seriously because, let’s face it, female rappers are still a rarity. Yet she succeeded to make herself noticed, and more importantly, she got her big breakthrough and she’s been ruling the charts ever since.

Nicki’s appeal doesn’t seem to fade either, because she’s talented and can make herself and her music interesting to the ever-fickle modern audience. Some have accused her of selling out and going pop to do that, but they were proved wrong when Nicki’s more pop sound turned out to be just another facet of her as an artist.

As of now, Nicki has an estimated worth of about $50 million (€39.2 million). If she got this far, what’s to stop her from multiplying this by 10?
