Nick Cannon is doing much better after mild kidney failure, Mariah Carey announces

Nick Cannon spent Christmas and New Year's Eve on a hospital bed, after suffering from what Mariah Carey described as “mild” kidney failure while vacationing in Aspen. He is now on the mend, she says on her official Twitter page.

Just hours ago, the diva took to her Twitter to post the photo you also see attached to this article, together with a message for the fans who've been praying for a speedy recovery for Nick.

The pic shows Nick on the hospital bed, in front of his laptop, surrounded by flowers and “Get Well Soon” balloons.

Mariah is by the side of his bead, leaning in to plant a kiss on his cheek, while he's grinning for the camera. It's obvious he's in much better spirits.

“Thank you everyone for all the love & concern. Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days. As always he's laughing and in good spirits,” Mariah writes on her page.

She is also the one who broke the news on Nick's condition, posting another photo of him in hospital and a lengthy account of the diagnosis, as we also reported the other day.

Also then, she said that they had to spend Christmas in the hospital instead of around the Christmas tree opening up presents, but she was grateful that it was nothing serious and that Nick would be back up again in a matter of days.

“We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.,” she explained.

“We're doing OK but we're 'straaaaaanded in Aspen.' #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK,” she added.

Mariah ended her message by asking her and Nick's fans to pray for his speedy recovery.

“I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM,” she wrote.
