This spring, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon will be celebrating their first anniversary as husband and wife, after their hush wedding in the Bahamas. While the “Butterfly” singer is keeping mum on the subject, husband Nick is more than happy to talk to the media about what it’s like to be married to one of the most famous and appreciated women in the world, as his latest interview with Us Magazine clearly shows.

Talking to the media about marital bliss is something that, until now, has been almost exclusively reserved to female stars. However, since Mariah is usually quite shy about her personal life, hearing husband Nick gushing about their wonderful marriage is actually the next best thing fans could hope for. More so when he’s also seemingly unable to stop singing her praises, describing his relationship with her as a dream come true.

“[Being married to Mariah Carey is] the most amazing thing ever. I couldn’t wish for anything else. She’s the most incredible woman. Being in a strong union and being there for each other is something that I’d never really experienced before, so to experience it with my wife is remarkable. We’re together as one, and that’s important to me.” Cannon says for the aforementioned magazine in a brief interview.

At the same time, the star is also letting the cat out of the bag as regards the surprise present he will be making Mariah on this special occasion. “I got her a short-haired Jack Russell terrier – a girl, named Cha-Cha. She’s 8 weeks.” Cannon reveals, thus putting to rest any rumor that might have circulated that Mariah was a total material girl and cared for nothing else. Of course, there will be a surprise present too, but Cannon refuses to talk about it since, obviously, it wouldn’t still be a surprise if he told the media about it.

Recent reports about the celebrity couple also had it that they were house-hunting, with starting a family in mind. Word in the industry had it that Mariah had settled on a $125-million mansion that would allow her to personally oversee the building of an all-pink nursery like she always wanted. When asked by Us Magazine whether they wanted children at this point, Nick Cannon refused to answer and just “laughed.”
