A new Android-based mobile phone is now available for purchase for AT&T's customers, namely the Nexus S, for sale starting today via all Best Buy stores around the country, as well as via the retailer's website.

The handset was announced only a few days ago as being on its way to AT&T's network, and was also available for pre-order for the past few days.

The new device comes with support for AT&T's network, but packs all of the other features and specs that the original Nexus S was launched on the market with.

AT&T's customers interested in purchasing the Nexus S will have to get $99.99 out of their pockets it they commit to a two-year contract agreement. The full retail price tag for the smartphone was set at $529.99.

Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung, and was launched in December last year as the second Google phone in the world.

Before making its way to AT&T's airwaves, the phone was available in the United States with support for T-Mobile's network, and with WiMAX and CDMA connectivity capabilities at Sprint.

“This mobile phone features a 4" touch-screen display to help ensure simple navigation through menus and a compact design for easy portability. Built-in wireless networking allows you to stay connected and productive on the go,” Best Buy notes on its website. The mobile phone packs a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, along with 16GB of internal memory, but does not offer the possibility to expand the storage space via microSD cards.

The specifications list of Nexus S also shows NFC capabilities, along with support for Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, and USB 2.0 port.

Nexus S was packed with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto-focus and the possibility to record videos in high definition (720p at 30 fps), as well as with a front-facing camera that allows users to make video calls.
