Nexus S, the second Google phone, is now available for purchase in the United States via Best Buy for $100 less than usual.

According to the retailer, the deal would be available only until March 23rd, and only via the Best Buy stores around the country.

“For a limited time, get a Nexus S from Google Smart Phone from T-Mobile for just $99.99 (everyday promotional price $199.99) with 2-year activation. In store only and requires a coupon,” the retailer notes on its website.

The smartphone is already a very appealing device, and the price tag should make it even more attractive to mobile phone users in the United States.

The handset comes from Samsung, and became available for purchase on the market in late 2010, and can be purchase with a contract agreement on T-Mobile's airwaves.

When released, the Nexus S was the very first smartphone in the world to run under Google's new Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

On top of that, it was also the first Android device to include NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities.

The specifications list of Nexus S includes a 4” Super Clear LCD Contour Display capable of delivering a high WVGA 480 x 800 pixel resolution, as well as a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor with built-in graphic processor.

The smartphone also includes a wide range of multimedia capabilities, including a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities.

Moreover, the Nexus S arrives on shelves with 3G connectivity, as well as with WiFi, and Bluetooth capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, and 16GB of internal memory.

The mobile phone also offers support for various Google Mobile Services, including Google Maps, Gmail, Talk, YouTube, Search and more. Not to mention that it comes with support for applications available for download via the Android Market.
