The time has finally come for Android enthusiasts in India to be offered the possibility to purchase the Nexus 5 through Google Play Store.

Although the smartphone was officially introduced in the country a few weeks ago, Google did not make it available for purchase through its Play store.

According to the latest hearsay, Nexus 5 should have gone on sale around November 22, but it looks like Google was able to bring the smartphone to India a few days earlier.

There are no surprises regarding price tag, as Google announced several days ago that Nexus 5 will be available for purchase for Rs 28,999 ($465/€345) for the 16 GB model, and Rs 32,999 ($530 / €390) for the 32 GB variant.

Both versions are now listed on Google Play India, but we're not sure how long the stock will last, so those who wish to get the Nexus 5 for a more than decent price should hurry and make their acquisitions now.

Nexus 5 is likely to go on sale through other major retailers across the country as well, but it will be priced considerably higher than Google's version which is now up for grabs on Play Store. The reason is simple, Google is subsidizing the Nexus 5 to spread Android expansion even further.

In the same piece of news Google announced its Nexus 7 2013 is also available for purchase via Play Store, so those who wish to acquire a 7-inch slate can get it for Rs 20,999 ($335 / €250) for the 16 GB Wi-Fi model.

Additionally, Google launched the Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi version which has been priced at Rs 23,999 ($385 / €285), and the 32GB 3G/LTE variant that can be had for no less than Rs 27,999 ($445 / €330) upfront.
