The next OS X update from Cupertino is about to be released. Apple has seeded a stable build to employees for testing, and reportedly plans to deploy the final bits to the customer base in the following days.

People with access to the new beta, labeled as OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Build 14C109 were kind enough to leak the changelog to the media, revealing the major new changes occurring in Apple’s desktop OS.

WiFi woes to end this week

Numerous Yosemite users have been plagued by wireless issues, and Apple’s efforts have so far failed to address the matter properly. Apple employees with access to the new version say these problems should be gone after applying the patch. The same goes for slow-loading web pages and security flaws affecting Safari and Spotlight.

VoiceOver speech performance is also improved. There was also a bug that caused VoiceOver to echo characters when entering text on a web page, according to the leaked changelog. OS X 10.10.2 fixes this, and even improves audio and video syncing when using Bluetooth headphones.

Time Machine gets iCloud Drive integration

One of the best things since sliced bread, iCloud Drive is slowly but surely making its way into every deep corner of Apple’s operating systems.

Despite lacking a standalone app on iOS, iCloud Drive on OS X is much more relevant and usable. Even more so under OS X 10.10.2 which, according to the leaked documentation, “Adds the ability to browse iCloud Drive in Time Machine.”
