A recent Amazon product listing points to Guitar Hero 6 finally receiving a title. A new preorder offer on the site shows the game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock as available for the Nintendo Wii, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 in the usual Standard, Guitar Bundle and Super Bundle flavors. The release date listed on the web page is the 21st of September, 2010, the prices being of 59.99, 99.99 and 179.99 dollars for each of the title's versions.

This latest installment in the Guitar Hero series is the last one developed by Neversoft, a studio dissolved by Activision due to the poor sales of last year's Guitar Hero: World Tour and the other rhythm-based games. Also, famous musicians will not be playable characters in this new title, as it seems Activision learned its lesson from the lawsuits with Courtney Love and No Doubt.

Celebrity rock figures will still be part of the game. Gene Simmons from Kiss will narrate the new Quest Mode and Lars Ulrich, Metallica's drummer, will inspire the supporting character that gives the player bonus powers, Lars Umlaut. Other features of the game include the ability to transfer previously purchased DLC songs to the game and the ability to sustain open bass notes. Future updates may let the players use Project Natal or other camera technology as a means of controlling parts of the game.

The set list of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock features 93 songs more focused on rock this time around, as opposed to the various genres represented in World Tour. Some of there rock songs come from artists like Jane's Addiction, Queen, Kiss, Metallica, Ozzy, Megadeth or Rammstein. If the DLC songs are taken into account, Warriors of Rock will have over 300 tracks available at launch, making it Activision's most comprehensive music offering to date.
