How many of you still remember the ZTE Optik? The 7-inch tablet, introduced back in February 2012 featured 3G connectivity and ran Android 3.2 Honeycomb out of the box.

Now after more than two years, Sprint finally pushed out a successor for the tablet. The ZTE Optik 2 sports a 7-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, exactly the same as its predecessor.

In the hardware department, we find a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8625Q processor combined with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built in storage (expandable via microSD).

Furthermore, the new slate has dual cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP in front), 3G and a decent 4000 mAh battery. Sprint will launch the new tablet with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, a noticeable improvement from Honeycomb.

Those interested in this medium-range tablet can pick one up for Sprint for $29.99 / €22 with a two-year contract, or $169.99 / €124 with no strings attached.
