At the beginning of the week Command & Conquer fans were pretty shocked to hear that Visceral Games is the new studio in charge of developing the series, but it seems that the rumor was false, as EALA is still in control of the real time strategy franchise.

Last week we heard that Visceral Games, a development studio owned by EA, was working on four new projects, besides the upcoming horror survival futuristic shooter, Dead Space 2.

At the beginning of this week, one of the projects that saw Visceral in charge was rumored to be next title in the popular Command & Conquer real time strategy series.

The franchise was developed, originally, by Westwood Games, which was then purchased by EA and merged into the EALA, given its close proximity to Los Angeles.

The studio then created many new titles in the Command & Conquer series, including Red Alert 3, Tiberium Wars and the most recent Tiberium Twilight.

Now, as you can imagine, people were pretty surprised to see Visceral in charge of the strategy franchise, given the fact that the studio previously worked on the original Dead Space and hack slash title Dante's Inferno.

According to a report from Game Informer magazine, such a thing isn't true, as the EALA team is still responsible for the series, and will continue to develop titles for it in the near future.

Besides that, EALA will also expand its internal Danger Close team, which was recently responsible for the single-player campaign in Medal of Honor, a title that reached pretty big sales recently.

So, after the lackluster Tiberium Twilight, it seems that the EALA team still has the confidence of EA executives to deliver another Command & Conquer game.

Do you think the studio will manage to deliver a compelling strategy experience once more, or perhaps Visceral might have been a better choice?
