Ubisoft has decided that, in order to raise hype around the upcoming reveal of its next Assassin's Creed game, a teaser campaign on Facebook is just the right thing, as is coupling it with an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) in which fans must figure out clues in order to unlock information about the game.

Ubisoft made no secret about preparing a brand new Assassin's Creed video game for release later this year, despite the last one, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, appearing at the end of last year on consoles and back in March on the PC platform.

Sadly for the many fans of the franchise, the company has been scarce on details up until now.

Things are changing though, as ahead of the planned reveal on May 13 through US magazine Game Informer, Ubisoft is also holding a special teaser campaign on the Facebook page of the Assassin's Creed series.

On it, players must participate in a special ARG, where they need to work together in order to complete the unlock process, which is currently sitting at 28%.

Most of the work seemingly consists of spreading the word on the campaign through various social networks like Facebook, Twitter or email.

Two teaser videos have also been posted on the page, which you can check out below.

In them, various messages written in Arabic are seen, as well as certain locations reminiscent of the first Assassin's Creed title, which also had the familiar blue-ish hue during its gameplay.

The teaser campaign may have already been spoiled yesterday, when, for a brief time, a special link was posted on the Facebook page of the franchise, directing users to a new website that hosted a logo for Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which might be the new game in the series.

What's more, the website made a brief mention of Altair, the protagonist of the original game, so the new one might once again feature the Arabian assassin.

Nothing is certain as of yet, but expect more details to appear in the following days, and on May 13 with the scheduled reveal.

Until then, check out the two teaser videos of the next Assassin's Creed game, possibly Assassin's Creed: Revelations below.
