Warhammer brings total war!

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos carries on its legacy: epic clashes between the empire and its enemies. Players command and develop their army, and defeat enemies by taking and strengthening, and - when needed - defending territories.

The size of armies players take to battle will vary, from smaller, tactical missions to enormous, cinematic battles.

Players might also find themselves taking on smaller objectives. Players might fight to take over a mill in order to generate food. However, this may come at the expense of troops - something players must take into consideration.

In the attached screenshots you can see:

- A spectacular battle between the Empire vs. Skaven rages across huge expansive battlefields.

- Chaos Furies prepare to attack an Empire camp, followed by the raging attack itself.

- Chaos Warhounds push through Empire Greatswords, these natural killers trample the Empire's formations.

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, like its predecessors (Shadow Of The Horned Rat, Dark Omen) is about WAR, focusing on the armies and battles while de-emphasizing the tedious aspects of base and resource management.

The story behind Mark of Chaos will not continue from were Dark Omen left it. Actually, between Mindscape's Warhammer and that of Namco there is only the bond made by the universe (from the table-top game created by Games-Workshop) they unfold.

Portions of the defeated Chaos armies have retreated to the distant Northern Wastes, while others have fallen to hostile groups. Among these tribes, new Champions rise up in an effort to reunite the Chaos forces, yet eventually all fail. None can match the power of their fallen leader, Asavar Kul.

The united Empire and High Elf forces hunt the Chaos hordes from the Empire territories, still alert because danger lurks around them in the form of smaller enemy warbands that loot the settlements of the border lands.

The game is scheduled to launch in fall of 2006 for the PC.
