A new iPhone application allows bacon lovers to set an alarm and wake up to the sound and smell of sizzling meat.

Oscar Mayer Institute for the Advancement of Bacon in Madison, Wisconsin, created a small dongle that plugs into the headphone jack of any iPhone and emits the sound and smell of bacon sizzling in the pan, Digital Trends informs.

The iPhone accessory works with the aforementioned alarm application to release a bacon-scented spray at the exact moment set up by the user.

To set the alarm, the user has to rotate a frying pan. The alarm will wake them up at their chosen time with the sound of sizzling bacon.

Unfortunately for many, the small device will not be available for purchase, as the meat company plans to give away only a limited number of dongles as part of a competition that ends in early April 2014. So, the only way to get a “Wake Up and Smell the Bacon” device is to enter Oscar Mayer’s contest.

“With nearly two million mentions of #bacon on Instagram, it seems people never get tired of bacon. That’s why our team decided to develop a device to give folks what they long for most,” said Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer.

Those who would like to enter the race for one of the devices must take a quiz on Oscar Mayer’s website. However, the participants must be U.S. residents.
